<p>NBC ran a promotion for its new show <em>Prime Suspect </em>for two consecutive Thursdays in September<em>. </em>In this example, the two ad units are featured on the My Verizon homepage. The same ad scenario appeared simultaneously across Synacor Portal Group on about 40 homepages around America. Each roadblock included a 300 x 250 banner in the right column of the screen coupled with the Dynamic Spotlight (DS) in the center. The DS is one of the major aspects of what makes SPG special: Unlike other portals such as MSN or AOL, brands share space in the rotating content carousel. Each DS links to at least four external URLs designated by the advertiser. NBC chose to link to the Facebook and Twitter profiles for <em>Prime Suspect </em>and to the show&#8217;s official homepage. The banner had an interactive video preview.</p>
